I make photographic art in many forms....without adherence to any philosophical tyranny. Love to paint, mixed media 2D pieces at my leisure. Still working on some pieces that have evolved over a period of years. Art for me is not on the clock (mostly).

I drove to a nearby clearing to get this. There were a couple of families there to witness the show. Nice people. I showed them mine, and they showed me theirs. Me with tripod, camera set to 5 second delay blah blah blah. Them, with their phones, long exposure magnificence and excellent results. I’m a dinosaur. Luckily, it only happens every 80,000 years.

Such are the summers inland. Lantanas drop their flowers from the heat. Vegetable buds fail and never produce. The following months are spent just keeping plants alive. Like every year before, we all make it through. A little more brown and ready for the cool nights. The lantana like those cool nights. Their yellow buds are teasing us with promise.
Cover photo from August 11th when a thunderstorm rumbled through. A brief change from the constant scorch fest.
August brings the Perseid meteor showers. Interval shooting while you’re sleeping has to be the most lazy-guy photography, but some of it works.
This little treefrog decided to take refuge in our hose pot (where it is wet and cool).
It has become apparent that my gardening skills are lacking. Lucky for me, tomatoes will grow in even some of the worst conditions. Last season, squirrels, birds, rodents, woodlice and a variety of fungi ruined our efforts. So, I caged in the raised beds to keep out the larger offenders.
The fruit near the edges did not fare so well. (Imagine a little rat poking his nose in there for a treat)
Thank you WordPress for fixing the unbroken yet again. For changing it up and wasting my time. If an app/software feels the need to stay relevant by “fixing” all that is broken about it, you have revealed your insecurity of value in the product you have produced. Providing AI options reveals where this is all headed. Fake. Moving stuff around to validate your job is stupid. Get it right and just stop already. Here are some time-tested words that work: courteous, thoughtful, sensitive. Next time, every time, changes should be optional. Sorry ’bout the rant.
