Fruit From The Garden

It has come
To my attention
That these many days
On the trail

Marked by failure
Marred by poison
Skin erupted
In sore lesions

Are purpose
Filled

Daughter of my youth
To see your face today
Holding you close
For a vapor’s moment

Fills my eyes
Full
With oceans of joy

Their waves
Deliver gifts
And riches
Beyond Words

I say with confidence
Today
Our garden
Has yielded its fruit

16″x32″ water color, gouache, water soluble oils on plywood/gesso
