I’d like to thank my daughter for some tomatillo seeds. They have flourished in the garden and make a very sweet salsa.
About 25 Small and Medium Tomatillos
1 Small Onion
4 Garlic Cloves
1 Large Jalapenó Chili (or Serrano)
Or more if you like it hot!
3 Dashes Cumin
1 Tsp Salt (Adjust as needed)
Lemon Juice From 1 Average Lemon
Cilantro to desikred taste
1/2 tsp Black Pepper (adjust for taste)
The Process:
Tomatillo Salsa!

Perfecto! Tomatillo is my favorite salsa, with chipotle pepper based salsa running a close second.
Guilty of not hitting the vimeo, but if you didn’t, you might want to mention the amount of seeds has a dramatic effect on the heat level. 😉 I made the mistake of asking the local Mexican place here if they had any tomatillo salsa to liven up the food a bit. Their food is great quality but bland (too many gringos here, lol). You could strip paint with that tomatillo sause of theirs though, LOL. Good stuff.
PS: Lime works well in place of the lemon also. 😉

Lime is great and more traditional as well, as for the heat, some like it hot! There are instructions to adjust as needed

Interesting method of bringing out out the flavor of the tomatillos. Our recipe calls for roasting them in the oven or preferably in a gas grill. Will have to try it your way. Thanks, Mark.
