Traversing down the path,
I happened to look up.
There, the moon bright and shiny
Waiting for some context.
I grabbed by trusty D750 and went to work (multiple exposure mode). It took a little longer than usual. There is no view to see what the progress looks like while you’re framing (newer cameras do that now). Everything is by memory. After many failures, this one seemed done to my liking.
Due to all the trees in the frame, I had to add the moon with the camera upside down!

Isn’t it the same result as flipping an image taken with the camera upside up?

I failed to include the part that the moon was a single separate out-of-frame part of the photo. The color/texture was made with (2) 6-second photos. I was using an old 105mm so I could not zoom into the moon without tree branches at the bottom of the final frame. In my mind, those branches would be more of a distraction to the composition. The answer was to flip the camera over.
